What is Medication-Assisted Treatment?

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an effective form of addiction recovery that combines therapy and medically supervised pharmaceutical care. At Rise Above in Southern California, our addiction medicine specialists administer FDA-approved medications like Vivitrol, and Suboxone to help treat opioid addiction in a professional setting. Our experienced medical team provides ongoing oversight, tapering patients off pharmaceutical interventions as appropriate.

When is Medication-Assisted Treatment Necessary?

Medication-assisted treatment is most effective for those with treatment-resistant opioid addiction who want to abstain from drugs but struggle with relapse. It has been shown to lower mortality rates associated with opioid overdose, but it is not a cure for addiction. When administered with regular therapy, an inclusive sober network, and major life changes, it can be an effective part of addiction recovery.

Supervised Treatment and Care

Our MAT program includes constant supervision from our medical team of MD, PA, and CMA professionals, ensuring the appropriate dosage and treatment for each patient. We offer medication-assisted treatment as part of our residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation, partial hospitalization program, and intensive outpatient addiction treatment.

Privacy Respect

At Rise Above, we understand that privacy is of the utmost importance when it comes to addiction recovery. We take every possible measure to respect the confidentiality of our patients. We adhere to all state and federal laws regarding patient privacy and we work tirelessly to create a welcoming and judgment-free environment where our patients feel safe sharing their experiences and seeking treatment.

Insurance for Medication-Assisted Treatment

We believe in providing the best possible addiction treatment options for our clients. If you think you may be a good candidate for MAT, talk to us about whether your health insurance carrier offers medication-assisted treatment coverage. We will work directly with your insurance provider to minimize the overall cost of treatment and will work directly with clients to create a personalized payment plan when necessary, as we believe cost should never be a barrier to lasting sobriety.
